A House in Mourning....

Not having a good week here.  We had to have our beautiful Katie sent to the Rainbow Bridge Monday.

I thought she might have developed diabetes or a thyroid problem.  All of a sudden she was not eating and became very weak.  Her fur got funny and she wanted to drink cold water and to be in the cold all the time.  She kept going off by herself and instead of eating her food, she wanted ours now.

I made an appointment with the vet on Wednesday for Monday morning for both cats to go and get caught up on their shots.  But between Friday and Monday, Katie just went down hill fast.  She went into kidney failure and was so bad in such a short time, that when the vet saw her and did testing, she said poor Katie wouldn't make it thru the night.. I couldn't let her suffer any longer, so I held her while she went to sleep.

She was only 7, and we're still in shock. Patsy Cline keeps going into all our rooms looking for her.

We are very sad here.

Rest in Peace, Katie - you were loved so much.

I'm so sorry about Katie. It is so hard, especially since she was so young.

{{{{{{{{{Sharon}}}}}}}}} ... I am so sad to hear your news. I know how much you will miss Katie. I keep photos of all my beautiful quilty kitties who have crossed the rainbow bridge above my computer and in my sewing area so that they still keep me company. When we lost our elderly Mina Kitty last summer we were very sad and our Butterfly also kept looking for her. So we went to a shelter and found two year old Katniss, who needed a forever home, just waiting for us to bring her home. Somewhere ... when you are ready ... a kitty is waiting who needs your love ...{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} Pat

I am so sorry to hear about Katie. Nothing is harder than looking a pet. Hug Patsy a little tighter. It will be good for both of you!

So very sad when we loose a pet - words fail me - I just know that she has wonderful company on the other side of the rainbow bridge ... playing with all of our beloved pets. Judy C still gets a knot in her throat thinking about Brady.

So very sad for you. Please, when you are ready, adopt a needy cat. There are so many that need loving homes. Enjoy your memories of Katie and know that she loved you as much as you loved her. She's happy, even now, running free, in a land of sunshine and love. Joan

So very sorry for your loss. These wonderful loving companions become so important just after they come into our homes.
We are so lucky to enjoy their company, and affection.

Again very sorry for your loss.

I stumbled upon your blog tonight and my hear breaks for you. I went through a similar situation the week before Christmas with a cat that had developed a rapidly progressing cancer. We are a multi cat household but the others still are confused by his absence. At least you know she had a wonderful life with you and that's all any of us wants.

Your Katie was a special little gal. I'm sorry she's gone. Little Patsy Cline needs you to give her lots of extra love.....and you need to hug her, too.

I'm so sorry little Katie is gone. You and Patsy Cline both need another soft kitten to love......and there's one somewhere in a shelter waiting for you. Sending a hug and pats for Patsy......

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about Katie, Sharon. My kitty Buffy looks just like her, so I always liked reading your blog to see what Katie was up to. Sending hugs to you and Patsy Kline.

I hope the days without Katie are getting easier for you and Patsy C. It was a tough but humane decision and shows lots of love. Rub Patsy's cheeks for me.
