More goodies in the mail!

Lucky me! I received goodies from 2 more swaps in the mail this week. I already showed you the lovely tablerunner from Viki in Australia for the Quilted Table Easter Swap. Now I have received a neat bunch of goodies from Tammy in the Secret Easter Swap run by Julie. Here are pictures of the goodies Tammy sent.

They included a pair of gardening gloves, a lovely handmade card, 2 handmade tags, some little garden stakes for my herb pots, and a spring candleholder and tealights. This package has me all ready for Spring. Thanks, Tammy.

The second package I received came from Khristina in Australia for the Spring Swap held by Linda. Khris made me a really bright and cheerful tote bag to carry all my "stuff" in. I just love it! It was a nice splash of color on a snowy day. (Yes, we had snow flurries yesterday, and today, too! UGH!!!! When will Winter be gone for good?) She also made me a matching pincushion with 3 really unique pins in it. And some chocolate! It all came with the cutest Koala card. Can't wait to use the tote - but not til the weather's better, don't want it to get dirty!

Now I have to finish up my project for the Miniature Booty Swap Round 3. If I'm late Toni will make me walk the plank, hehe. AAAAAARRRRR!

Make sure to stop in and see Cindy at Quilt Patterns from Seattle and vote for the block you want her to use in her charity quilt. She has lots of gorgeous and FREE quilt patterns for you.

Speaking of chocolate...and when aren't we either talking about it or eating? Drop in at the Moda Bake Shop, they have a scrumptious recipe for a Waldorf Astoria Red Velvet Cake. Yummy!

There's another Quilt Block Swap starting up here. But it's too close to the deadlines I already have coming up, so I guess I'll have to pass this one up. I'm getting to like block swaps. It's fun to see the different fabrics people have in their stash.

On that note, Katie says it's time to get off the computer and get to work on that Booty project! She says she doesn't like water and has no interest in learning to swim at this stage of her life. Maybe in life number 2? But for now, she'd rather nap.

Until next time....

Please Help--

My friend, Mel, is having a Fundraiser for Autism on her blog this week. Please stop by and visit, she has some wonderful handmade items that were donated by other crafters and quilters to help raise money for this worthy cause. I'm trying to buy some beautiful handmade buttons right now, but there are lots of other things available, too.

You can also read about Mel's 7-year old nephew, Brock, who is autistic and check out the many links she has on her blog with info on autism.

Mel also has lots of other neat stuff on her blog, a quilting tutorial, and links to some other great blogs, like the Tip Junkie, so stop in and check things out and see if you can't find something to buy from the Fundraiser.

Until next time...

3 Swaps Down..............

and 3 more to go. I've been busy trying to get my Easter/Spring swaps done and mailed on time, so haven't posted much. But today I can show you what I've been doing. The Dresden Fan Tabletopper is my favorite to make and works great for all holidays. I can make it in any size, but so far I prefer the larger size for special occasions. Here's the one I made for my Quilted Table Easter Swap for Becky in South Dakota. I added a cute little bunny candy holder filled with chocolate goodies and an Easter towel as extra treats. The nice thing about this size is you can fold it up and around a surprize-so it's 2 gifts in one!

I received my gift all the way from Viki in Australia. She made me a beautiful Easter egg tablerunner with the most charming label I have ever seen. She also included a darling handmade pincushion, some folding scissors, delightful cat fabric, a spool of varigated thread, and the most unique, original, Australian buttons! What a package to receive. I love it all. Thanks, Viki! And of course, Miss Katie had to get her nose right into everything!

Because it's perfect for most anyone, I made the same topper but in different colors for Dorothy in the Secret Easter Swap hosted by Julie at Bush Baby Jag. Dorothy likes bright colors and purple, (also my fav color) and I just happened to have the perfect Easter egg fabric for her. I just love this fabric!

I can't tell you who my 3rd swap goes to for the Spring Swap hosted by Linda at All Stitched Up. But it's on it's way to somewhere around the world and should be received soon. Can you guess what it is? That's it all rolled up... This is the back all opened up.... This is it filled and with some extra goodies just for fun.
If you guessed a travel sewing roll, you're correct! And Katie had to help get everything together and all wrapped up. I hope whoever gets this package likes kitties, lol!
This would be a great gift for all my stitching friends for Christmas....but if they read my blog they won't be surprised. So I guess I'll have to come up with something else for Christmas gifts.....maybe. Actually I do have several other things I'm working on for my crafty friends birthday and Christmas gifts, but sorry, can't show you, 'cause they like to peek.

Until next time...
