3 Swaps Down..............

and 3 more to go. I've been busy trying to get my Easter/Spring swaps done and mailed on time, so haven't posted much. But today I can show you what I've been doing. The Dresden Fan Tabletopper is my favorite to make and works great for all holidays. I can make it in any size, but so far I prefer the larger size for special occasions. Here's the one I made for my Quilted Table Easter Swap for Becky in South Dakota. I added a cute little bunny candy holder filled with chocolate goodies and an Easter towel as extra treats. The nice thing about this size is you can fold it up and around a surprize-so it's 2 gifts in one!

I received my gift all the way from Viki in Australia. She made me a beautiful Easter egg tablerunner with the most charming label I have ever seen. She also included a darling handmade pincushion, some folding scissors, delightful cat fabric, a spool of varigated thread, and the most unique, original, Australian buttons! What a package to receive. I love it all. Thanks, Viki! And of course, Miss Katie had to get her nose right into everything!

Because it's perfect for most anyone, I made the same topper but in different colors for Dorothy in the Secret Easter Swap hosted by Julie at Bush Baby Jag. Dorothy likes bright colors and purple, (also my fav color) and I just happened to have the perfect Easter egg fabric for her. I just love this fabric!

I can't tell you who my 3rd swap goes to for the Spring Swap hosted by Linda at All Stitched Up. But it's on it's way to somewhere around the world and should be received soon. Can you guess what it is? That's it all rolled up... This is the back all opened up.... This is it filled and with some extra goodies just for fun.
If you guessed a travel sewing roll, you're correct! And Katie had to help get everything together and all wrapped up. I hope whoever gets this package likes kitties, lol!
This would be a great gift for all my stitching friends for Christmas....but if they read my blog they won't be surprised. So I guess I'll have to come up with something else for Christmas gifts.....maybe. Actually I do have several other things I'm working on for my crafty friends birthday and Christmas gifts, but sorry, can't show you, 'cause they like to peek.

Until next time...
Happy quilting from Sharon and Katie

I love your dresden plate table topper! I made a smaller version as a candle mat once and wasn't too pleased with it. Is there an easy way to increase the size of the petals to make it table sized? Do you have a template you could email me?

Hi Shelley,
Thanks for stopping by and letting me know you like my Dresden Fan's. I have a template for the size in the picture--it makes up to about 22-inches across. I'll try to email it to you. Please stop back often.

Sharon, I love that topper, so very cute. Could you share where I could find that pattern?

Thanks, Ivy. That pattern has been passed around and changed so many times, I don't know where it came from. But if you send me your email address, Katie said she'd be glad to share our version of it with you.

Hi Sharon,

I have an odd request. My mom was over the other day and noted a quilted table topper that I have on my breakfast nook table. It's somewhat shaped like the one you have made for Easter. My question is, do you make items like that for sale? And, if so, how would one commission you? I can email you a photo of the one that I have...my mom really liked the doily in the center of mine. She's after a table topper like mine that can be used throughout the year, not just for a particular season or holiday.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

Best regards,

Dear Sharon & Katy.
As a new quilter I am having trying to create your fab dresden tabletopper for my personal use. No luck. Then I saw the comments, may I also have a copy of your pattern. I would be glad to make a small (budget) donation to a charity on your behalf.
Thank you.

Hello Star,
I'll be glad to send you the pattern. If you make an extra topper in Christmas fabrics and donate it to your local hospital's Christmas Sale, that would be wonderful.
